KUMAT

Introduction:

The admission to the programs of Kathmandu University (KU) is strictly merit-based and will be determined by the notches(scores) in Kathmandu University Undergraduate Management Admission Test (KUUMAT).

The programs regarded by KU are Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Business Information System (BBIS), BBA (Hons)/BBA (Emphasis), and Bachelor in Hospitality and Tourism Management (BHTM).

This test is taken by Kathmandu University School of Management (KUSOM) to admit quality students to its affiliated colleges. The KUUMAT entrance applications are generally announced in June and the exam is generally held in July. 

  

Admissibility:

Both Nepali and Non-Nepali candidates with a minimum of 50 percent in aggregate or CGPA of 2.0 on the scale of 4.0 in 10+2 or intermediate or equivalent level study program from legal universities/boards.

Also, Candidates who have completed the qualifying educational level but waiting for their final results can apply by providing the document of already taken the final annual examinations of the program and passed all previous year papers. 

 

Admission criteria:

KUUMAT Exam Pattern:

1. KUMAT is a paper-based written test.

2. It consists of Multiple choice questions.

3. Also, it consists of negative scoring i.e, deducted 0.25 marks from each wrong answer.

4. About 50 percentile of the score is added from the KUUMAT exam.

KUUMAT Interview Pattern:

About 50 percentile of the score is added from analytical writing and personal interview after passing the KUUMAT exam. 

 

 Curricular Structure:

The KUUMAT exam scores the candidates based on their knowledge/aptitude in verbal ability, quantitative ability, logical reasoning, and general awareness. The test is based on the SAT format. The colleges running the program shall conduct the individual presentations and interviews for selecting suitable candidates. The admission committee of the colleges has the final authority in selecting the students for the BBM program.

2. Quantitative Section: - 25 marks

3. Logical Reasoning: - 25 marks

4. General Awareness: - 25marks
